TIRANA, August 1/ATA/-The lifting of physical control of the vehicle is another innovative step undertaken by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, which has radically transformed the offering of services to the citizens.
Director General of Road Transport Services Blendi Gonxhe expressed in an interview with the Albanian Telegraphic Agency the commitment to improve services for citizens into cheaper, faster and quality service in the field of goods and passenger transport.
Now, he said, physical control of vehicles will not be mandatory, but self-declared by citizens asking for a series of procedures carried out at the Directorate of Road Service and Transport.
More concretely, he continued, in the cases when one has to change the driving license, car sale, license plate replacement and some other procedures, there’s no need for the car to go through physical control, but from now on there will be only a self-declaration, a new concept that gives citizen responsibility, regardless of the monitoring and control.
Gonxhe added that thanks to these changes, the citizens will save a lot of money, equal to one average salary.
Another innovation of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services is the improvement of theoretical and practical testing for getting the driving licenses.
“Now this test from a clutter is an objective test carrying real and practical questions. This measure has returned the confidence of the citizens that if they get prepared well they can succeed in getting the driving license without interference and bribery, as was the practice of the past,” he said.
Likewise, Gonxhe explained, the online publications give the opportunity to more than 50 thousand people a month to get prepared for the test of getting the driving licenses.
Further on, the time needed to renew the driving license is cut from 15 days into 30 minutes.
Gonxhe also highlighted the transparency standards introduced in choosing favorite license plates which until yesterday were the privilege of friendships and bribes./e.xh/p.s./
