TIRANA, July 16 /ATA/ -By I. Vata/ – Socialist lawmaker Musa Ulqini said in a TV interview on Tuesday that the opposition actions have damaged Albania’s image, its European integration process and the reform efforts.
“The international partners, the Democratic Party allies in the European People’s Party have all urged the opposition not to give up the parliamentary mandates as it actually did,” the Socialist Party MP Musa Ulqini said.
“Since February, the opposition has ruled out debate and dialogue. PM Rama delivered a speech after the June 30 local polls and he reiterated the Socialist Party’s readiness to dialogue. Dialogue, establishment of the institutions, the Constitutional Court and the electoral reform are at the core of the statements issued by the EU and the United States,” Socialist lawmaker said.
Ulqini noted that the current political situation has damaged Albania’s European integration process and reforms in the country.
“The two main opposition parties have resorted to a suicidal action. The international experience has shown that many political parties have been destroyed because of their own decisions. DP has opposed everyone, our European allies, friends and everyone else. The situation is critical. The opposition actions are unjustifiable,” he added.
