TIRANA, July 5 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said at a press conference on the sidelines of the Western Balkans Summit in Poznan, Poland, on Friday that the Summit took stock of progress in the region and the state relations between the six countries in the region.
The Albanian government head noted that the Western Balkan Summit, part of the Berlin Process initiative from several EU Member States aiming at supporting efforts towards strengthening regional cooperation and the European integration of the Western Balkans, has achieved significant accomplishments, adding the Summit was consolidating year after year.
PM Rama highlighted the important fact that what has been planned for the future is more certain than what has been left behind.
According to him, strengthening the European Union is the only path of this Summit.
“It is not a summit to make the headlines, but it is dedicated to work and to take stock of the progress of work in the region as a whole, the state relations between countries in the region. After very intense, interesting and open discussions, it is imperative that the Berlin Process becomes a process that consolidates each year. The accomplishments are undoubtedly significant, but more important is the fact that what has been planned for the future is more certain than what has been left behind. We have no other path, but strengthening the EU. In this aspect, the EU, Germany, but also France recently, all support us,” Rama stated.
