Rama: Today anyone learns historic lesson that no one can trample on people

TIRANA, June 30 /ATA/ – By Gjergji Mima/ – PM Edi Rama cast his ballot on Sunday in Surreli school accompanied by his spouse, Linda.

After casting his ballot, PM Rama stated that Albania and the historic lesson drawn from this day are way more important than the vote for one another, which is secret. I believe this day confirms once and for all that the people is not to be trampled on, the people’s sovereignty is not a senseless word. Whoever attempts to take over the sovereignty is doomed to failure and disgrace.

Rama added that today is important for any citizen in this country, no matter whether they will vote or not, to respect the right of anyone to vote or not. That is the bottom line.

These elections are more than elections for mayors and new members of city councils in municipalities, they are elections for Albania we want to build for our children, PM said.

Rama added that I am convinced that today in Albania there is something historic that is taking place, a lesson that will be embedded in the mind of any political party and politician. Never ever will the interest of one party or politics come above the major national interest and concern of the people to have a common home worthy of our children.

Asked how it felt like to vote as in the time of communism after such a long time, Rama said: I am at peace will you. I love you all. No way can you provoke me. Haven’t you learned yet that no one can obstruct someone’s way when he or she are in their own right. This is the big difference between yesterday and today. /a.g/sm/
