Local polls/ Basha: Albanians refused vote

TIRANA, June 30 /ATA/ – The opposition leader Lulzim Basha claimed in a press statement following the local polls for election of mayors and city councils in 61 districts of Albania on Sunday that “85 percent of the eligible voters turned down the illegitimate monist vote.”

“Albanians abandoned Edi Rama’s single-party illegal vote. He received less votes than in 2015 and 2017. The today’s single-party vote, also under single-party full control, was an event that was taking place nowhere in Europe since communist era,” the chairman of the Democratic Party said.

According to him, the majority of the people who cast their ballots in today’s polls were the state administration employees.”

“Indeed, almost the entire vote of today was that of the public sector employees and was taken through threats and violation of the free will of the employees and their family members,” Basha said.
