PM Rama: Work to construct Saranda airport to kick off soon

TIRANA, June 22 /ATA/-By Gjergji Mima/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama pledged Saturday at an electoral campaign meeting in Finiq, southern Albania, that work to construct an airport in Saranda, southernmost Albania, will kick off soon, in a bid to give a boost to the emerging tourism industry along the Albanian Riviera.

“Of course I am not talking about a local airport in Finiq, but about the famed airport of Saranda that has been promised constantly from day one 1. Not it is time and we have already started work to identify sources and the forces that will start construction of the airport,” PM Rama said.

“I believe it is time to implement such a project in the country’s south in order to support the emerging tourism industry in the area, which needs more hospitality and accommodation capacities,” the Premier said.
