“100 villages”, comparative approach between Tuscany and Albania

TIRANA, June 19 /ATA/-The government of Albania schemes for development of agri-tourism in the country have yielded the first results.

“Huqi” firm in Durrës is one of them. Thanks to the subventions received through the Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development, it is already transformed into a tourist destination.

At the “Huqi” agri-tourism firm was held today the workshop “Rural Development through support of agri-tourism” to share the experience with the “100 villages” as a comparative approach between Tuscany and Albania.

Culture Minister Elva Margariti said during the meeting that, “Visionaries brought the best experience from abroad adapting it with the Albanian context. There are models of success, but some separate isles are not enough”.

The meeting ended with discussions among the farmers, representatives of agri-tourism enterprises and professors. The new package of financial support, along with the direct subventions in agritourism in every area of Albania is stimulating development of economy in the rural areas. /a.a/p.s./
