TIRANA, June 14 /ATA/- President Ilir Meta has asked Central Election Commission to provide information on the current number of lawmakers in Parliament of Albania.
The President wants to know the current number of mandates of MPs at country scale as well as obtain the nominal list of MPs.
“In February 2019 the MPs of opposition parties have declared in public that they have relinquished en bloc the parliamentary mandates. Secretary General of Parliament has informed CEC about the creation of vacancies in parliament of Albania as a result of these resignations.|
The document states that “The Election Commission has taken a decision on giving the parliamentary mandate to the next candidates in the line on multi-name list of each electoral entity for each zone. To make an assessment of this situation in pursuit of article 92 / h President of the Republic asks from you to provide accurate information and data on the current number of the mandates of MPs in Albania, the list of current members of the Assembly of Albania for each electoral zone for each entity as well as the list of MPs nationwide.
