TIRANA, May 25 /ATA/- The US embassy calls on all participants in today’s protest, citizens and law enforcement authorities to practice restraint and refrain from violence.
“The United States respects citizens’ democratic right to peacefully demonstrate. We call on all participants in today’s demonstrations – both citizens and law enforcement officials – to refrain from violence. Provoking physical altercations or using projectiles such as explosive devices, Molotov cocktails, and rocks, is undemocratic and unlawful. Those who engage in these violent activities are committing a crime and should be held accountable. The United States urges all sides to practice restraint, disavow violence, and engage in constructive dialogue.
