DP leader Basha answers to PM Rama

TIRANA, May 23/ATA/-The leader of the Democratic Party in opposition Lulzim Basha stated today that “In a democracy, when politics cannot resolve the disagreements, the people resolves them by vote.”

Speaking about the open letter and request for dialogue of Prime Minister Edi Rama, Basha said that “Yesterday, after openly saying that Albanians are better off without courts, Edi Rama sent me a letter to invite me to” dialogue “. Thus, we sit down to talk because, according to him, this is a requirement of democracy. As a matter of fact, democracy demands that the power emerges from the people and when politics cannot resolve disagreements, then people resolve them by vote. ”

“Yesterday,” Basha said, “The Supreme Court remained only with two members and was virtually disposed of, as it could no longer judge anything. More than 40 thousand cases are expected to be examined by this court”.

Further on, Basha accused PM Rama of cheating, like in the case of June 25 general elections.

“Edi Rama should have resigned since EU refused opening of negotiations with Albania”, said Basha.

“My unwavering stance is that Edi Rama should immediately leave the prime minister’s office because he is the one who destroys the free elections and the will of the people. The great change that we all want, the European standards in our country can only be achieved by a power deriving from the free vote of the citizens and exercised on their behalf. Therefore, I invite you to join in our protests for him to go, and in the national dialogue on the real change we must bring to guarantee the European future of Albania,” said Basha./gj.mima/ /a.g/p.s./
