TIRANA, May 18 /ATA/ – The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Caka said Saturday the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe marked also a critical reflection on the organization’s future challenges.
“Albania continue to protect the Council of Europe’s values and will remain an active contributor to the organization. Albania also considers that Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe is an added value to the organization in general and contribution to the affirmation of fundamental rights and freedoms in particular,” Caka said.
According to the report by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland, the CoE members should increasingly place greater attention to three key issues: impact of the artificial intelligence on human rights and fundamental freedoms in general; the effort to address the growing economic and social disparities in Europe and the commitment to prevent the growing phenomenon of forced labor.
