TIRANA, April 26/ATA/-Following his meeting with Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj on Friday, the Austrian Justice Minister Josef Moser said that cooperation between the two countries is becoming more and more close.
According to him, Albania has taken big steps forward that go beyond expectations especially in the field of justice and everyone should positively assess this.
“Albania has taken concrete steps to minimize corruption and reconstruct the justice system making it independent and removing the negative impact of politics on justice. These measures should be positively assessed irrespective of the political force that has taken them because these are necessary for the country and the rule of law”, said Moser.
He called on the political forces to direct their attention toward the common interest of the country, i.e. the EU integration.
According to him, vetting of judges and prosecutors is an important process to build confidence in the judiciary./j.p/p.s./
