Natural spectacle at Divjakë-Karavasta lagoon

TIRANA, April 23/ATA/-Thanks to the hunting moratorium, the migratory birds back in this early spring at the Divjakë-Karavasta valley, can offer to the bird-watching tourists a natural spectacle through their colours and movements.

The photographers have managed to shot in their cameras the flamingos and pelicans as well as flocks of rare birds that have just arrived from migration.

The Divjakë-Karavasta national park numbers 250 species and birds and it’s one of the areas with the greatest number in Albania.

The lagoon is the greatest wetland in Albania for the migratory birds and provides for them a suitable habitat where they can get nourished, spend the winter time, set up their nests and reproduce.

The natural isles in the lagoon are the most important elements of the area for protection of the birds. The pelicans set up their nests in these isles where they feel safe./a.a/j.p/p.s./
