TIRANA, April 21/ATA/-A group of 10 Albanian workers and 2 Turkish masters are working at Vlora shipyard in the vicinity of Soda forest for building a tourist ship designed for navigating in the Albanian waters.
The project is a step forward in the industry of ship building in our country.
The ship building industry in Albania has its beginnings at Durrës dockyard.
Besides building of the metallic ships, in the dockyard were carried out even high quality repair of all kinds of ships.
Durrës dockyard reached its culminating point in the period 1967-1985.
In 1968, there was built the metallic ship “Punëtori”. Then, the first made in Albania tub-boat, 32 m long and with 1000 hp.
In 1985, at the dockyard was built a ship of 2200 gross registered tonnage as well as other transport vessels, fishing ships of small and middle size./m.m/p.s./
