TIRANA, April 18 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ “The figures of Albanian asylum-seekers in other countries have dropped, and the issue of asylum applications is not a concern for the Netherlands,” PM Edi Rama said in parliament on Thursday.
Rama responded to the chair of DP parliamentary group, Rudina Hajdari, who said the govt. should invest more to improve healthcare and education, issues that compel the citizens to leave Albania.
PM Rama cited the example of Croatia, a member of EU, saying: At least 100 thousand Croatian citizens have sought jobs in Germany in 2018.”
“It is very important to discuss and look into the opportunities for promoting welfare of the citizens in this country, but it is impossible to wave a magic wand and stop people from chasing their dreams,” PM said.
