TIRANA, April 18/ATA/- We will not withdraw the defamation bill with regard to the media defamation, the Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama stated.
In his speech at the today’s plenary session, the Prime Minister Rama emphasized that “the defamation law will be soon submitted to the parliament for approval aiming at regulating all online media activities”.
In early December, the Albanian Government has proposed changes in two laws foreseeing the registration of online media and the policing of news content for a variety of reasons, including “biased” news, news that “damages public morale” and “publications that can incite penal offences”. //a.i/
