BoA: Albania’s economic growth, Monetary policy met targets

TIRANA, March 28/ATA/ – The Albanian economy is following a positive growth trend, the Bank of Albania BoA announced.

“The increase in the consumption, investments and exports will enable further expansion of employment, wage growth and profit rates, and the gradual strengthening of domestic inflationary pressures,” the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Genti Sejko stated Thursday following the meeting of the Supervisory Council of BoA.

At a press conference, Sejko emphasized that, “the monetary policy has met the targets for economic growth.”

The Supervisory Council of BoA has decided to keep its key policy rate unchanged at record low 1.0%.

“The economic stimulus was provided by the growth in Albanian exports of goods in the fourth quarter of the year, the growth in demand for loans, where private sector lending increased by 6% and the sustainability was reflected in the domestic foreign exchange market, Sejko added.//a.i/
