TIRANA, March 25 /ATA/ – All university branches will include the Albanian language syllabus.
This is what PM Edi Rama said at the launch of University Transparency Portal “u-transparenca.al”.
“We are in the process of reflection and I believe we will come up with a number of conclusions on Albanian language in universities, as the Albanian language is in a rather dramatic situation,” Rama said.
PM said: To the best of our knowledge, the Albanian language was removed from the high school curriculum, but we have re-inserted it, however we see a great deal of aggression against the Albanian language as a whole, aggression produced by the times we are living in and we intend to include the Albanian language in university curricula, in all branches. ”
How come one cannot write correct Albanian but is a skilled geologist?
“We are reflecting on English either, there is a binding rule on mastery of English, yet it is difficult to believe how someone who is not good at his mother tongue, Albanian, is proficient in English. These two will be part of a reflection. We will strengthen the condition for proficiency of English starting from ourselves, contributing to a system through which the students will have the opportunity to learn or improve their mastery of English.”
According to him, Albanian language will take its place in university.
