Basha: Embassies should not side with anyone

TIRANA, March 15 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ “The embassies should not side with any individual in Albania or political parties, instead they should side with the values of democracy in their countries,” DP head, Lulzim Basha, told a media statement on Friday.

When asked about the statements of the US and EU, Basha said: “I never comment on the statements of embassies, however I have a suggestion to make. I ask them not to side with any person or political party in Albania, I ask them to side with the values their countries stand up for, the values of democracy, free and fair elections, fight against corruption, fight against organized crime and drugs, fight against vote buying and selling, all of them clearly set out in the State Department report a few days ago.”

In addition, he said that the protest slated for tomorrow will be another opportunity for Albanians to come together and make their voice heard.

Basha made this statement after the meeting with Foreign Minister of Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček.
