TIRANA, Feb 23 /ATA/ – “Parliament is not product of the vote of the people,” the main opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha said in an interview aired by Russia Today.
In a daily news edition, the Russian news channel reported over the latest political situation, protests and the opposition MPs resignation from the parliament.
In the interview on the Russian television, Basha claimed that opposition MPs had decided to quit the country’s parliament because the parliament was not a product of the vote of the people, but that of the organized crime.
“Parliament is not product of the vote of the people, but it is a product, as it has been exposed by the judicial wiretaps published by the international media, of organized crime cooperating openly with the current government,” Basha told Russia Today.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party’s press office denied a media report that the opposition leader has given an interview with Russia Russia Today.
“Several media outlets have misinformed public today over an alleged interview of DP chairman Lulzim Basha with Russia Today. This is not true. Chairman Basha has been interviewed by the Associated Press and not by Russia Today,” the DP press office said in a statement.
