TIRANA, July 26/ATA / – Leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha expressed Thursday condolences to relatives of Adem Demaçi, a human rights defender.
“Today, the whole nation mourns the death of a great activist. On behalf of the Democratic Party, I express my most sincere condolences to the Demaçi family, friends, and to all the people of Kosovo for this great loss,” Leader of DP Basha writes on his official Facebook.
Demaçi was a human rights defender and the head politician of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), the independence fighters during the 1998-1999 war that ended after NATO intervened to stop a bloody Serb crackdown against Kosovo Albanian separatists. He never affiliated for long with a political group.
Demaci is survived by a sister.
