Gjonaj: Vetting is cleansing justice system, there’s no turning back

TIRANA, July 25/ATA/-The vetting process is reviving hope of the citizens that even in Albania justice can be done. The more examples of reviving hope, the more are the wall posters of the opposition in despair against the vetting, said on Wednesday Albania’s Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj.

Speaking at a news conference, Gjonaj said that vetting is functioning and the long-awaited cleansing of the Palace of Justice is happening.

The minister also emphasized that there is no turning back on this road and that is supported by everyone who wants the rule of law in this country where for about 3 decades the justice system has been caught by politics and rotten by corruption.

Gjonaj also voiced grateful thanks to the U.S. stance and said that the opposition effort to block the school of magistrates was hopeless and that there is no turning back. She also called on the opposition to cooperate with the reform. /gj.mima/ /a.g/p.s./
