TIRANA, July 18/ATA/-Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi stated that the positive report on Kosovo visa liberalisation has closed a rather difficult and rigorous cycle of requirements imposed by the European Commission (EC).
During the joint press conference held on Wednesday with the EU Commissioner on Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos, Thaçi said that the EC decision is good news for the people of Kosovo and an historic moment.
“The last kilometres seemed so long for us, but I am happy we have reached the final phase and I believe that the citizens of Kosovo will enjoy visa-free travel in Europe by the end of the current year. This has not been a present, but a merit-based achievement and a reflection of the work we have done together. The visa liberalisation is the most significant moment on the European way of Kosovo until Kosovo membership into the European Union”, said he./KosovaPress//e.caushi/p.s./
