TIRANA, June 29 /ATA/- The Albanian Government has received a $ 50 million loan from the World Bank to make investments in local and regional infrastructure development that will be implemented by the Albanian Development Fund (ADF).
The Albanian Development Fund has published on its official website the general procurement notice for competitive bidding, inviting interested companies to get ready for specific bids. The project is divided into several components, where the main chunk of funding will go to rehabilitation of existing local roads and road safety initiatives.
Intervention in road network aims to enhance road quality, their safety as well as increase protection from climate factors such as landslides and floods.
Investments in local and regional road axes improve connectivity and reduce the time of movement to a certain area, or between the regions.
In addition, the investment plan entails capacity building of municipalities, mainly in road management and maintenance, which will be capped by an assessment report on social impact of this project on agriculture and tourism.
