TIRANA, June 21/ATA/-Berlin is impressed by Albania’s Qualification Commission evaluating 800 prosecutors and judges in Albania since March dealing blows to corruption and considers it a model for the other candidate countries to the EU, writes the Austrian newspaper “Der Standard”.
“No other country in Southeast Europe has undertaken a justice reform of these dimensions like in Albania”, emphasizes the newspaper.
However, the newspaper adds that the Socialist leader Edi Rama has only few friendly parties in the EU as most of the EU countries are governed by the conservatories.
The newspaper also points to the Democratic Party in opposition in Albania that like it is common in the Balkans allows no success to the government and lobbies against opening of the country’s EU negotiations. There are persons against in the CDU and CSU, too. However, Merkel has the last say and the Chancellor has been in favour”, emphasizes the “Der Standard”. /G.S/ a.jor./p.s./
