TIRANA, June 7/ATA/-Albania has adopted a crystal clear strategy for creating a regional tourist offer. Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi said during an interview on television that tourism is the basis of the country’s economic development.
“Tourism strategy has been developed by experts like Adrian Civici, but even others. One of the tasks is Albania opening into a wide network, a regional package with Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and especially with Macedonia, and more or less with Bosnia, i.e. to have a sustainable development in tourism”, said Klosi.
Further on, the minister acknowledged that tourism development is not an easy thing. He considered unacceptable that on one hand to have elite tourism and on the other hand hotels pumping their sewage into the sea.
There are about 20 to 30 businesses that still pump sewage into the sea, said the minister.
According to Klosi, to promote tourism into another level professional education on hotel-management and agri-tourism is required.
According to him, the great influx of tourists building confidence of the entrepreneurs to invest.
“Thanks to investments in collectors and treatment of sewage, Golemi and Kavaja have experienced a growing increase of the tourists”, said Klosi./e.caushi/p.s./
