TRANA, June 3 / ATA / – The Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has praised Austria for the support at any key moment experienced by Albania considering it as a strong partner on the path towards EU integration.
During an interview for ARD, the Albanian Prime Minsietr, Rama stated that “Austria, for a long time , has been a supporter of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans and has always been loyal and friendly to us, and its one of our big supporters.
Asked about the outcome of the recent Western Balkans Summit in Sofia, and if he expected to get more results, the Albanian PM, Rama stated that, “I did not expect to get more results because I knew what I was going to , and where I was being so, I knew it was not the time to seek for anything like that, but it was a moment to continue and fight, it was a good meeting because I could fight. ”
With regard to the opening of negotiations, the Premier Rama stated that ,”Albania deserves the opening of negotiations and we have got a very clear recommendation from the European Commission”.
With regard to illegal Greece-Albania cross-border migration and then to Central Europe, Prime Minister, Rama stated that , “we have a 14 fold increase compared with the previous year, such a number is not disturbing for the whole Europe, but it can become disturbing.”
Redarding to fence on the Greek border , the Albanian Prime minister stated that, “I do not believe in physical fences, I believe in the fence of cooperation between states and people. So if this fence is well-tailored then everything is fine and done properly, and not simply to protect the borders but also to respect the dignity of the people.”
