Vetting of Constitutional Court member, decision is due on May 3

TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/- The Independent Qualification Commission decided on Wednesday to postpone the decision on Constitutional Court judge, Altina Xhoxhaj.
According to sources from IQC, the decision whether the judge passes the vetting or not will be announced on May 3.

The session on reassessment of the wealth of Constitutional Court judge by Independent Qualification Committee was held two days ago.

Relator of the issue, Brunilda Bekteshi, said that administrative investigation by IQC found discrepancies between the declarations and her wealth.
The defence lawyer said that her client, Altina Xhoxhaj, expects to be reconfirmed in duty.
“Altina Xhoxhaj has been very cooperative with the Commission. She meets all the requirements in three components, wealth, personal and professional integrity,” she said.
