TIRANA, April 5 /ATA/- The concessions granted by the govt. for check-ups or dialysis are services that are offered to Albanian citizens free of charge.
PM Edi Rama hit back on Thursday’s plenary session at the opposition allegations, saying: This govt. is working to the benefit of 5 oligarchs.
“Tell us about one single concession dipping in the pockets of those citizens who receive the service. Citizens used to pay ALL 5 100 for check-ups in the previous bankrupt system under Berisha. To date the government pays ALL 1 500 for each check-up, while the citizen pays nothing at all. The idea that people refuse to undergo health examinations is barbaric. It is unlikely to work with a
European institution unless you present a health check certificate,” Rama said.
Regarding the service of dialysis, Prime Minister Rama said that under Berisha government, the dialysis service was provided in Tirana alone forcing the sick to travel 3 times a week to Tirana.
To date this service is provided in some regional healthcare centres across the country.
“Three times a week the patients on dialysis and their family members accompanying them have a vehicle at their disposal and the petrol expenses reimbursed,” Rama said.
