TIRANA, March 12/ATA/-During the fourth quarter of 2017, Albania’s total employment increased with 4.3% as compared to the same period of the previous year and 0.9% as compared to the previous quarter of the year.
Albania’s Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) issued on Monday the Quarterly Labour Force Survey for the fourth quarter 2017.
In annual terms, employment increased in services with 8.4% and in industry with 7.3%.
While agriculture sector marked a decrease in employment with 1.5%.
During the fourth quarter of 2017, the employment rate for the population aged from 15 and older is 13.4%. As compared to the same period 2016, the official unemployment rate decreased with 0.8%. As compared to the third quarter 2017, the official unemployment rate decreased with 0.2%”, is read in the INSTAT Report.
Along with the falling trend of unemployment, according to INSTAT, it was increased even the scale of participation in the labour force for the population 15-64 years old. During this period, the scale of participation in the labour force for this age group is 67.4%.
As compared to the fourth quarter 2016, the scale of participation in the labour force is 1.7% higher. As compared with the previous quarter this indicator is increased with 0.3%./a.gjonaj/ /a.g/p.s./
