TIRANA, March 9/ATA/- Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Hans-Joachim Fuchtel visited on Friday Albanian stand at Berlin International Tourism Trade Fair as an expression of Germany’s support for Albania’s reforms, sustainable development of tourism and environment.
Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi acquainted the top German official with the important initiatives of the government for development of tourism and protection of environment.
Germany is present in Albania with investments in the two fields. During the meeting, Minister Klosi and Secretary Fuchtel discussed on increasing German aid through the German cooperation for the sustainable development of tourism and protection of environment in our country.
Both sides shared the view that Albania cannot get transformed into a European tourist destination if it fails to base tourism on environment.
Minister Klosi held important meetings with representatives of major companies like: Tui Group, Tomas Chook and Apollo Group and that have expressed a great interest in 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts investments.
“There is a three-fold or four-fold higher tourist demand as compared to the capacities that we offer”, said Minister Klosi.
Likewise, he expressed his belief that the fiscal package and the facilities offered for the 4 and 5 star hotels as well as agri-tourism are the future of Albanian tourism.
