TIRANA, Feb 14 /ATA/- The artificial lake of Puka surrounded by a strip of pine trees is the next tourist attraction for foreign and local visitors.
The recreation area of Puka around the artificial lake which was nothing but a septic tank until yesterday has been transformed into a splendid feature of the Alpine scenery owing to rehabilitation.
The town of Puka as of May 2017 is witnessing a major rehabilitation, including re-qualification of the Puka centre and small lake.
The investment is aimed at transforming the town of Puka and its surroundings into an all -year round destination through urbanization and revitalization of the plazas and the area around the small lake.
The project includes restoration of the square in front of the town hall, which is the most vital part of the town due to the location of administrative and cultural institutions. It will be closed off to traffic and become a pedestrianized area
In his daily feature on social network Facebook, PM Edi Rama wishes good morning to his followers with a view of the picturesque Puka lake.
“Good Morning and with this picturesque scenery of Puka lake transformed into an integral part of the city centre in the light of National Program for Urban Renaissance, I wish you all a good day,” Rama writes.
Puka lies at the heart of Northern Albania, nestling among the foothills of the mountains covered with all year green forests, meadows, pastures crossed by winding rivers, streams and springs that feed on snow. This blend of its natural environment and welcoming people constitute a tourist offer suitable for hiking, skiing, mountain climbing and hunting.
