TIRANA, Feb 12 /ATA/ – By Z.Tosku/ Completion of some major projects in the urban zone of the capital has enabled the municipality to shift its attention towards rural areas under the administration of communes before the territorial reform.

As Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj has stated in numerous public appearances, this year investments will be concentrated on the villages around. After the completion of Scanderbeg square, New Bazaar, Olympic Park, small bypass as well as a number of restoration works on new boulevard, the municipality investments will advance on the outskirts and the surrounding villages.

The municipality is going to make investments on the city suburbs to soften the contrast between the city centre and the villages around which is a major step towards sustainable development,  shift in mentality and standards about the quality of life in the surrounding areas.

Currently the local government of Farka is undergoing investments, including reconstruction works on the plaza before the local government seat, planting of trees in the territory of Orbital forest. As social-cultural life is rapidly invigorating in the framework of tourism promotion, this village has become the host of annual event Farka N’Fest, a major draw for youths.

Road markings on the main segments and installation of traffic signs are regarded with priority while maintenance and cleanup of the streets are well underway.
This year Tirana municipality investments will be concentrated on road infrastructure and school reconstruction such as reconstruction of Agallaret road as well as construction of a high school gymnasium. The road Fush-Daxh, Farkë e Vogël are set to undergo requalification works.. Another recreation site will be built in Lundra. The Tirana municipality is keeping to the same standards as in the city centre works.

A new road from the TEG roundabout to Farka has been opened in mid-December last year (2017) , while the segment from Farka to the former Autotraktor plant, part of the Tirana ring road project, is under construction.
