TIRANA, Jan 23 /ATA/ – By Z.Tosku/ “ My vision is to promote Albanian artistic life on international stage,” the newly appointed director of National Art Gallery, Erzen Shkololli, stated on Tuesday.
Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro introduced on Tuesday at a news conference the new director of National Art Gallery in Tirana.
“We will work together to implement the project for rehabilitation of NAG, which has started with the terms of reference and the consultations for an international bidding.”
For his part, the new director of Natonal Art Gallery, said: It is a great honour to be appointed the head of National Art Gallery with Albanian art and Albania itself rapidly establishing a reputation on international stage. I think my vision for the future of National Gallery is to propel Albania artistic stage to international art world without forgetting to keep an eye on local talents. This is the approach and the way how National Gallery will breathe from now on.
In Albania Shkololli came to prominence as the advisor for the world biennal Dokumenta 14, which this year was held in Kassel (Germany) and in Athens (Greece). The Albanian from Kosovo presented the modern art in an international event of such proportions.
Shkololli succeeds Artan Shabani who served at the helm of this institution for a full term of four years.
