PRISHTINA, Jan 22 /ATA/ – Albanian President Ilir Meta urged the Kosovo institutions on Monday to find smart solutions and work to bring the country closer to the European integrations.
During a meeting with the Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in Prishtina, the Albanian head of state voiced confidence in Haradinaj government commitment and the country’s opposition to work together and finding wise solutions to all issues that would further strengthen Kosovo’s international position.
Meta expressed Albania’s full support for Kosovo in this regard, “always in coordination with the Prime Minister, President, the Parliament and all Kosovo institutions.”
President Meta underlined that he was visiting Prishtina on the 12th anniversary of the death of Kosovo’s president Ibrahim Rugova.
“I’m here today to express special admiration for President Rugova on this anniversary of his death and underline importance of commemorating his values. We are also looking forward to receiving the February 17, the 10th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo as an opportunity to further affirm Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic path,” Meta said.
Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj stated that integration into Euro-Atlantic structures was the country’s top priority, emphasizing that refusal of five EU states to recognize Kosovo was hindering progress.
