TIRANA, January 22/ATA- Z.Tosku / – Prime Minister Edi Rama wished followers on Monday a nice week through a video posted on Facebook streaming the implementation of the new speciality programme in hospitals outside Tirana.
The Premier accompanied his post with a video explaining patronage system in Fier’s hospital where according to a scheduled programme speciality physicians go to regional hospitals to undertake medical check-ups and visits (the latter to fulfil lacks.)
35 neurologic visits, 24 cardiac check-ups and 10 ultrasounds were performed within on day thanks to hospital’s patronage.
Fier Hospital Director, Nevila Shuka said that three speciality physicians have arrived at the hospital, a neuropsychiatrist, an ultrasound radiologist and a cardiologist.
University hospitals planning has kicked off implementation of a new model of patronage and cooperation with regional hospitals in the country by meeting the needs of speciality physicians based on regional hospitals requests which will assist the latter to achieve quality and accrediting standards. Specialities have been lacking for four years which has caused great damage to specialised medical assistance in hospitals where their number to fulfil needs is scarce.
