TIRANA, Jan 11 /ATA/ The Civil Aviation executive directors of Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia, during a meeting held in Tirana, agreed on intensification of cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
At the end of 2-day meeting hosted by director of Albanian Civil Aviation Authority Krislen Keri, 4 executive directors hammered out a joint declaration committing themselves to intensifying their cooperation in aviation security, sharing expertise and training in protection of passengers’ rights by airlines, improvement of aviation security as well as addressing the drone rules.
Krislen Keri, Executive Director of Albanian Civil Aviation briefed his counterparts on the goals of ACA as well as highlighted the importance of 4 directorates working together to address similar challenges of aviation in each state as well as improve the services.
Executive Director of Albanian Civil Aviation Keri and his Kosovo counterpart Dritan Gjonbalaj agreed that the two countries should closely work in the field of air security with main emphasis on close cooperation in crafting the national air security plan.
During the conversation with his Montenegrin counterpart, Dragan Djuroviç, Keri asserted his will to join the initiative one stop security, which Montenegro has successfully applied. Embracing this initiative would eliminate two checks for passengers flying from Mother Teresa airport.
In the conversation with director of Macedonia’s Civil Authority Goran Jandreovski, the two agreed to share expertise and best practices in enhancement of inspections and capacity building up to the standards of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which awarded the certificate of excellence to Macedonian Authority in September, 2017.
The parties agreed to intensify the meetings between them and apply for joint projects in civil aviation with the financing instruments of EU.
