Money supply increased by 4.3% at the end of 2019

TIRANA, Feb 19/ATA/- The growth in bank credit has affected the expansion in the money supply, the Bank of Albania (BoA) reported.

According to the official data published by the Bank of Albania (BoA), Albania’s Monetary Aggregate: M3, or broad money, recorded an average annual growth of about 4.3% in the fourth quarter of 2019, or 0.7% higher than in the previous quarter.

Bank of Albania estimates that money creation in the economy is backed by funding from the banking sector, for both the private and public sectors.

The most liquid asset, the money, outside or inside the bank accounts, increased by 9.6% in the last quarter of the year.

While the loan portfolio in the fourth quarter of last year increased by 7.8% or 0.3% more than in the previous quarter.//a.i/
