TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/ – A 30-year-old man injured after the powerful earthquake struck Albania on Tuesday morning is being flown by a medical helicopter to Tirana international airport to fly then to Bari, Italy, for a more specialized treatment.
A team of Albanian and Italian medics decided to transport M.SH to Italy due to his life-threatening wounds.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu expressed gratitude to Italian government, which has offered support for treatment of the injured through the civil protection department.
The team of medics are monitoring the condition of another injured, whose health is worsening.
Neighbouring and European Union countries have reacted to the earthquake in Albania with an outpouring of solidarity, sending civil emergency rescue teams and financial aid.
