TIRANA, November 8 /ATA/- The National Historical Museum staged an exhibition entitled “Traveling with Edward Lear in Albania”.
The exhibition opened last evening for the public brings together the works of Albanian painters of the landscape who traveled in the footsteps of Edward Lear across Albania.
Lear’s paintings show our country, as well as the traditional clothes of the local population in the mid-19th century.
Attending the opening event of this exhibition was Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi, who stated, “This is a genius idea. It is to create the tourist itinerary for places where Edward Lear has traveled. This exhibition helps us to identify the landscapes of our country, to give an idea of how the Albanian reality has been and how it is transformed nowadays”.
On his part, Director of the National Museum of History Dr. Dorian Koçi said that, “It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to see and visit the hidden beauties of our country, through landscapes that have given us an even clearer approach”.
While Painter Kujtim Buza said that, “This exhibition will be remembered for its cultural and historical values. Edward Lear occupied our country with his pen, the hearts and minds of Albanian intellectuals and artists.”
This event is organized by the Book and Promotion Institute, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and the Environment and the National Historical Museum./a.a/p.s./
