TIRANA, November 8/ATA/- Reforms undertaken by Albania to improve the business climate in the country and reduce corruption have been highly praised by international financial institutions.
In an interview, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President, Sir Suma Chakrabarti stated that, “Albania has made significant progress under the Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government.
“If you look at the judiciary reform, it is becoming more efficient, more independent, which is very good. Good governance is very important for every State. Public administration reform is again good and there are more online services, and this is a good thing because they help reduce corruption, “EBRD President Chakrabarti stated.
“If we look at the work we have done with Albania, such as signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Mr. Rama three years ago, establishing an Investment Council, the investment climate has improved, because the council has drafted many recommendations and all have been implemented,”he said.
“In fact, Albania under this government is on the right path to improve the investment climate, reduce corruption and become a much better place for foreign investment, and local investors. I think that governance is heading in the right direction, ”the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Suma Chakrabarti added. /a.i/
