“Doing business”/WB: Albania has improved business rules in absolute terms

TIRANA, Oct 28 /ATA/- The World Bank notes that “Albania has improved its business rules in absolute terms according to “Doing Business” indicators.”

According to Doing Business 2020 report, Albania is narrowing the gap in global regulatory practices by a score of 67.7 points, the World Bank is quoted as saying in a recently published report on Doing Business 2020, pointing out that in the last year our country has improved its business rules according to international indicators.

This year, Albania places 82nd for the ease of doing business.

Improvement of business rules in the last couple of years has had a direct impact on increase of employment.

The fact that World Bank cites in another report on the Western Balkans is that “Albania is the country with the highest level of employment in the region, estimated at 52.1%, recording the largest increase in employment, 1.8% in 2018.

The WB report also shows that in Albania, employment in industry increased by 3.9% in 2018 and employment in service sector by 2.5%. On the other hand, employment in the public sector increased by 4.3%.
