Albanian Eagle U23 in the World Rafting Championship Ivrea Italy 2018


TIRANA, July 25/ATA / – The Albanian Rafting Federation “Albanian Eagle” is competing at the World Rafting Championship. Albania is represented in category R4 – U23 (young people under 23) in downriver disciplines, slalom and H2H races with team captain Murat Mamurani and sportsmen Ergi Opingari, Ameda Kuqo, Edison Daja, Ali Spathara and Pirens Zhara.

In the 2H2 discipline, Albania defeated Serbia by raising the Albanian flag on the podium.

More than 35 teams from 15 participating countries are competing at the Dora Baltea River.

The race started at Villeneuve (Aosta Valley, Italy) and then at the Ivrea Canoe Stadium, a river sports centre located in the city portion of the Dora Baltea river,  situated in Northern Italy, in the Aosta Valley.

In the near future, Albania will be one of the host countries of one of the most important rafting competitions in the waters of the Vjosa River and the Canyons of Osumi.
