Maximum sentence for jail warders involved in corruption

TIRANA, May 18 /ATA/- Losing the job will be the least of measures that will be taken against jail warders charged with corruption.

This is what Minister of Justice , Etilda Gjonaj, said at an event with the participation of 260 new employees who joined the staff of penitentiary system.

Zero tolerance towards any attempt for corruption. Losing the work place is the least of the measures you face if you attempt to get involved in corruption. Maximum sentence for any prison warder attempting to become part of illegitimacy,” Gjonaj said.

Meanwhile, she asserted the will of govt. to reverse the mindset and procedure for recruitment of prison police.

“Passing the test is just the first and the easiest step to join the prison police body. You have a very complex and difficult task ahead. It will start with training phase, as you did on the testing phase and then the hardest part is yet to come, the fieldwork,” the minister said.
As many as 260 new effectives out of 1400 participants in the race have passed the test.
