TIRANA, April 23/ATA/-There will be severe penalties for polluters of the rivers and seas, warned Minister of Environment and Tourism Blendi Klosi. The minister was speaking in Seman beach where he followed from very close the cleaning operation and beginning of preparations for the new tourist season in Fier municipality.
The minister said that the action for cleaning of beaches will continue during all the tourist season.
Attending the cleaning of Seman beach was the UNDP representative in Tirana Brian Williams. He emphasized that meeting the objectives of sustainable protection of environment will bring sustainable tourism.
Mayor Armando Subashi emphasized that the town hall will control the subjects that exercise their activity during the tourist season to ensure they respect the regulation and do not become a source of pollution in the beach.
“We are here to see from very close not only cleaning of the beach, but even fulfilment of the other conditions related with security in the beach, treatment and depuration of sewage of the bars and restaurants located in vicinity of the coastal area. We have also to clean the river mouth which continues to be an open landfill that cannot be tolerated,” said Klosi./p.s./
